The University of Sydney
White Research Group
Conducting research at the interface of biology and chemistry, specialising in biochemistry, structural biology, and medicinal chemistry.
Molecular enzymology, drug discovery, and protein engineering
The White Research Group uses a range of biological and chemical techniques to characterise novel protein systems, particularly enzymes, which can be used and/or manipulated to solve global challenges in medicine and agriculture.
RECENT NEWS
Congratulations to Monica for graduating from her Honours!
The group came out earlier this month to celebrate Monica's completion of her Honours degree! Well done to her and all the fellow graduates.
Congratulations to Yannasittha for graduating from his PhD!
The clouds cleared and the sun came out in time to celebrate Yannasittha's completion of his PhD early this week! Yannasittha marks the first PhD graduation from the White lab with many more to come.
Most recent publication by Yannasittha, Mark and collegues is out now in Nature Communications!
The paper outlines the group's work on characterising the substrate binding interactions of a mammalian N-terminal cysteine oxidase (ADO) using cyclic peptide inhibitors. Well done to Yannasittha, Karishma, Mark and the rest of our collaborators in the School of Chemistry and throughout the university!
